Geek at heart, Chay graduated with a degree in Computer Science and fought interviewers to hire her as a programmer when they insisted she would be better in sales or marketing. She got her wish and she started working as a software engineer for Unisys, then moved on to become the Product Manager for Windows at Microsoft.

Chucked it all after that, and gave birth to her own startup, Chimes Digital Marketing Solutions (which ironically is a marketing agency). But then Wunderman came into the scene and asked her to help establish its office in the Philippines. True to form she couldn’t resist the calling of building a unique high performance team backed by a global company. Thinking it was only going to be a short stint, she took the reins, forged on and ended up leading them for over 4 years. Now super stoked to be working for the same company as the people she deeply respects and admires. (Full disclosure – she’s a fangirl of Sheryl and Zuck). She’s now a Client Partner in the Global Sales Organization of Facebook Philippines. Biker, runner, swimmer, beach bum, yoga practitioner, Harry Potter and Star Trek fan (sprinkled with a bit of Battlestar Galactica), and more importantly – mother to Gabby, Sophie, and Luis and wife to Ferdie.

John Tan is an industrial designer, product developer and lecturer at the University of the Philippines. In his design practice, John specializes in what he calls DFM or 'Design for Manufacturing' where he helps clients find the fastest and most cost-effective wayto manufacture their products.

John found  a niche in designing and building custom thermoforming machines. In 2015, the Philippines' Department of Science and Technology (DOST) commissioned him to develop a studio-grade vacuum former that could easily be fabricated by domestic manufacturers.

Knowing that the machine will most likely be operated by non-engineers with little or no technical training, he set out to design something that would be easy to use. A key part of the solution was a software-based controller with a graphical interface and a menu from which users can simply select a material and all the process parameters would automatically be set.

This same controller would later be adapted for a side project which John started while he was still working on DOST's machine, a desktop thermoformer called Vaquform™,  the World’s First Digital Desktop Vacuum Former.
